An introductory glider ride at Miami Gliders is a scenic flight for one passenger, flown from Homestead General Airport (X51) in South Florida, south of Miami. Your ride starts on a half-mile grass runway where a towplane launches you and your instructor into the sky, climbing to just beneath the clouds.
From the front seat of the glider you get a breathtaking 360° bird's-eye view of South Florida: the fields, the bay and the Everglades. Your certified instructor walks you through the controls and lets you fly, so the gliding experience is hands on from the first minute.

Do I need experience to ride in a glider?
None at all. Your FAA certified instructor flies with you and hands you the controls when you're ready.
How long does a glider ride last?
Airborne time runs about 10 to 30+ minutes depending on the tow height you choose, plus time on the ground for your briefing and preflight.
How much does a glider ride cost?
Rides start at $150 for a 2,000 ft tow. The 3,000 ft and 5,000 ft rides cost more and stay up longer.
Can I give a glider ride as a gift?
Yes. Gift certificates are emailed the same day, ready to print or forward, and are valid for a full year.
